چکیده
The present work focuses on the development and validation of a CFD simulation setup diesel-methane dual fuel combustion in single-cylinder research engine (SCRE). validated is used to provide insight about at low-load operation. computational campaign consisted evaluating three different diesel injection timings 310, 320, 330 CAD methane percent energy substitution (PES) 80%, 5.1 bar gross IMEP, 500 pressure, 1.5 manifold air pressure where 360 corresponds firing top dead center. ability capture combustion, performance, emissions trends accurately demonstrated by good agreement with experimental data. further utilized insights into nature particularly, effect autoignition. Analysis results showed that onset both low-temperature heat release high-temperature n-dodecane (the chemical surrogate for diesel) delayed presence system. For early dual-fuel low-load, initial arises from burning followed combustion. Most piston compression ring crevices, areas near liner, remained unreacted after done. amount performance was also explored.

Combustion Characteristics of a Diesel-hydrogen Dual Fuel Engine
Among the alternative fuels, hydrogen shows great potential in the near future. In the present study, hydrogen utilization as diesel engine fuel was investigated. Hydrogen can not be used directly in a diesel engine due to its autoignition temperature higher than that of diesel fuel. One alternative method is to use hydrogen in enrichment or induction. To investigate the combustion characterist...

متن کاملNumerical Investigation on the Effect of Injection Timing on Combustion and Emissions in a DI Diesel Engine at Low Temperature Combustion Condition
One promising way to achieve low temperature combustion regime is the use of a large amount of cooled EGR. In this paper, the effect of injection timing on low temperature combustion process and emissions were investigated via three dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) procedures in a DI diesel engine using high EGR rates. The results show when increasing EGR from low levels to levels...
